For more than 20 years, I've worked as a freelance service provider developing software for technically demanding systems — embedded controllers, industrial machinery, safety-relevant components. Always across the full product lifecycle: from the first functional prototype through series production and long-term maintenance in live operation.
SCOPE
- Product development: from initial concept/prototype through series production
- Embedded software: C, embedded C, C++ for controllers and industrial systems, on microcontroller platforms such as STM32, Renesas, Infineon, and Atmel, as well as single-board computers and SoCs such as Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, and ESP32/ESP8266
- Linux-based systems, complemented by Python and C# tooling (including simulations)
- Communication & connectivity: CANBus, Modbus, RS232/RS485, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet/TCP-IP, as well as WLAN/Bluetooth connectivity; IoT/cloud connectivity including MQTT
- Code quality & standards compliance: MISRA-C compliant development, static code analysis with SonarQube
- Testing & quality assurance: unit testing with Google Test, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systems, test automation with pytest, formal requirements and test processes (requirement/design specifications, reviews, target-hardware tests)
- Development infrastructure: Git, GitLab CI, CMake, PowerShell
- Debugging: system-level debugging with GDB and J-Link, plus hardware bring-up directly on the electronics — oscilloscope, multimeter, and soldering iron are part of the standard toolkit
- Collaboration: agile work following Scrum in cross-functional development teams
- Long-term maintenance and further development in live operation
